Naga miscreant killed in Karbi Angolng

A Naga miscreant was killed in police firing when he along with a few others set on fire a few houses at a tiny hamlet in Diphu bordering Nagaland on Thursday.

The incident took place when a group of miscreants sneaked into the hamlet in Diphu and unleashed a reign of terror in the wee hours.

A section of these miscreants further resorted to blank firing to disperse the villagers. Policemen who were on alert arrived in the village and firmly dealt with them where one of the miscreants died on the spot.

Others in the group managed to escape the spot. But the policemen have cordoned the entire area to capture the remaining miscreants.

Talking to Assam Times in Diphu, a section of the villagers alleged that they have been receiving threat from a section of the miscreants from Nagaland for the last several months.

Some of the miscreants from the neighbouring state have been asking them to vacate the place or to face dire consequences forcing the authority to keep the police on maximum alert.
