The shocking incident took place at the Diphu-Lumding road when two miscreants travelling on a vehicle shot dead a girl at 10 in the morning.
An eyewitness told Assam Times that the deceased
Sherbihun Bepi, an irrigation department employee was shot dead by the miscreants from a point blank range as she started entering into her office premises.
The miscreants vanished from the spot.
A critically injured Bepi was rushed to the hospital where she was declared brought dead.
