Rajnath promises Article 244(A)

Addressing the rally at Bokaliaghat in Karbi Anglong district, the BJP President Rajnath Singh said that they will give special attention to the demand and make every effort for implementation of the Article 244(A) for the people of Karbi Anglong and Dima Hasao.

Dear Shri Terang,

Hon'ble Shri Rajnath Singhji, the president of BJP while in a visit to Dima Hasao in December 2008 has declared in a public meeting at Haflong that his party would take up the issue of implementation of Article 244 (A) for the two hills district of Assam when in power at the centre.

The senior-most National Leader, Hon'ble Shri L.K.Advani, who had declared in an election rally at Kheroni on 25th March, 2009 that NDA would seriously take up the issue of implementation of Article 244 (A) for the two hills district of Assam when in power at the centre.

In the view of the above statements declared by our Hon'ble President Shri. Rajnath Singhji and senior most National Leader Hon'ble Shri. L.K.Advani, the undersigned do hereby reascertain that the BJP party is still sick to the commitments for creation of smaller states including the implementation of Article 244 (A) of Indian Constitution for two hills district of Assam.

The Langpi Dehangi Rural Bank (LDRB) of Hatikhali town in Dima Hasao district have been closed since February 2013 as some miscreants demand the ransom from the bank manager. Speaking over phone, the bank authority told that the LDRB bank will reopen in August 2014. The Dima Hasao Autonomous Council (DHAC) scam accused RH Khan and Mohet Hojai may be freed soon from Guwahati Central Jail as the National Investigative Agency (NIA) has submitted its NOC to the court for their release. The Army recovered a cache of arms and ammunition after an encounter with extremists in Dima Hasao district on Wednesday. Security forces on Sunday nabbed an NSCN-IM militant near Haflong in Dima Hasao district of Assam. He has been identified as Ishambe Pame. The rebel was involved in the kidnapping of district elementary education officer Thangpuia Namlai of Haflong recently, said an Assam Rifles (AR) official. Acting on tip-off from its intelligence wing, the Haflong-based AR unit, along with Assam Police, launched an operation in the area and nabbed the Naga militant.
Two suspected Dimasa National Democratic Front (DNDF) terrorists were arrested on Thurday evening in a joint operation by the police and the army. According to police officers, the arrested militants were identified as Stamp Dimasa alias Joisholal Hagjer (36) and Probesh Hagjer (24). They were arrested in the wee hour from a locality under Maibang police station in Dima Hasao district. Two more persons, however, managed to flee, the officers said.
