Bijaya files nomination

BJP candidate for Guwahati Bijaya Chakrabartty on Thursday filed nomination papers for the final phase of Lok Sabha polls slated for April 24.

Accompanied by several senior leaders, the former Union minister filed the nomination papers before the returning officer at 12 noon. Before that BJP took out a huge process across the city with the party candidate which ended at the DC office premises.

Talking to reporters, she said that BJP’s victory is imminent. These papers would be scrutinized on Friday and the candidates are free to withdraw nomination by Sunday.

Elections in Guwahati along with Nagaon, Dhubri, Barpeta, Mongoldoi will take place on April 7.
