Uneasy calm in Chirang

Sensation prevails in Chirang after a tribal girl was rapped and killed by miscreants on Friday. The incident took place at Boldi gaon near Amguri along the Indo-Bhutan border.

According to information, the incident took place in the afternoon when a gang of seven miscreants picked up the girl who was fishing at the Makra river along with three others.

Then she was dragged into the nearby jungle. Some of them also tried to pick up the two others. But they managed to escape from the spot.

The girl was believed to have been repeatedly rapped before being murdered. Her body was found on Saturday.

Police investigation is going on.  Police officials investigating the case have been extracting vital clues from the survivors.
