Trader shot at in Sonari

A businessman sustained serious injury when pumped several rounds of bullets at him in Sivasagar district on Friday.

The shoot out took place in front of the Sonari College at around 6-30 in the evening.

Eyewitnesses told Assam Times that two motorcycle born started indiscriminate firing at the businessman as he was walking on the road.

Identified as Golap Lunawat, the businessman fell on the spot and the miscreants managed to flee from the spot immediately after the firing.

A grievously injured Lunawat was rushed to the Assam Medical College in Dibrugarh where his condition is said to be critical.
