AICC clears Kirip for Mongoldoi

Its official. After weeks of will-it-wont-it, AICC has announced Kirip Chaliah as the candidate for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls from Mongoldoi.

The confirmation came from AICC on Tuesday evening much to a major relief for the former MP from Guwahati.

The development took place hours after former Congress MP Madhab Rajbanshi joined the Asom Gana Parishad.

Notably, Rajbanshi who is a strong Koch Rajbanshi leader was put out of the race for Congress ticket to contest from Mongoldoi constituency. 

Two other contenders were Pradyut Bhuyan and Pranjeet Chaudhury.
