Steps to ensure free and fair polls

Chief Election Commissioner V S Sampath reiterated zero tolerance to ensure sanctity of polls.

Addressing a press conference, chief election commissioner VS Sampath said that neutrality must be maintained by the polling staff.

“We will strictly monitor the implementation of the model code of conduct and expenditure rules by a candidate.

He said that pollings would take place from 7 in the morning to 4 in the afternoon in all polling booths having basic facilities.
