Law and order reviewed

Senior police and civil officials met reviewed the state’s over all law and order situation at a meeting in the run up to the Lok Sabha polls slated for April 7, 12 and 24.

Chaired by Chief Secretary, the meeting discussed in detail the security arrangement in the poll bound states.

Major blast averted in Rangiya as explosive materials recovered

A major blast was averted in Rangiya on Tuesday when police and CRPF recivered a huge cache of explosive materials from the Rangiya bus station and picked up three people in this connection. According to information, these explosive materials including 30 grenades, 30 detonators have been found from a bus bearing No AS 21-0441 at the Rangia Bus station. Later addressing a press conference in the city Central west zone DIGP G P Singh claimed it a major achievement of the police. He said these were transpired between ULFA and ANLA.

Honour for meritorious Mishimis

The annual felicitation ceremony of meritorious student of Mishmi and sportsperson under the ageis of cultural & literary society of Mishmi was held in Itanagar on Saturday.

Eight students in academic excellence of 2015 -16 and sports brilliance were honoured in the function. They were awarded with a certificate and a cash prize of Rs 10,000 each to Class – XII highest marks scorer from three different streams.

E-district project launched in Bhergaon

To facilitate ‘timely, state-of-the-art, hassle-free, transparent and comfortable services’ to the people of Bhergaon sub-division the district administration inaugurated the e-District project in Bhergaon sub-division on Thursday.

Dithakananda Hazarika ADC of Udalguri district inaugurating the E district project said that people of the sub-division can now avail government services conveniantly through Internet, Common Service Centres (CSCs) and Public Facilitation Centres(PFCs) at DC, SDO and Circle Offices.

Rituttam Bora EAC Bhergaon was also present on the occasion. Bora divulged that four E -district project has been launched in Udalguri district. Deva Pratim Bhuya, District Manager E- district project, Phulsingh Basumatary District Project Manager and Alaisri Basumatary from Common Service Centre along with all the staff of sub divisional office were present in the programme.

The project aims at seamless service delivery of government services to the citizen by enhancing the efficiency. It is envisaged  that the electronic delivery of citizen centric services will ensure efficiency, transparency and reliability at affordable costs to the citizens.
