Senior police officer absconding

Guwahati: In a bizarre incident that rattles the state's police force a senior police officer is on the run.

He is none other than Kumar Sanjit Krishna who faced interrogation in connection with the recent nefarious police recruitment scam. A team of CID probing the scam raided the younger brother of Chief Secretary Kumar Sanjay Krishna on in Guwahati on Wednesday and recovered some incriminating documents.

The state home department gave CID the go-ahead to nab the police officer who was recently transferred to Barpeta. But by evening the senior police officer has gone missing.

According to reports, brokers Rubul Hazarika and Dibon Deka, who was arrested in this connection claimed to have struck a huge deal with Sanjit Krishna two days before the interview where the question papers were unpacked to be a screenshot. The particular deal was made for Rs 40 lakh.

CID is intensifying its operations in search of the police officers after they recovered lakhs of rupees from a house in the city.
