The Assamese film "Bomba Ride" is screened at the 52nd Indian Panorama section of the Goa International Film Festival.
Directed by Bishwajit Bora, "Bomba Ride" is in Mishing language.
The film is about a primary school located near the banks of the Brahmaputra River, which is the life line of many tribes in Assam. The main struggle of the teachers of the school is to keep it running. Reason? It has only one student, named Boomba. But a time comes when the school is on the verge of collapse. Boomba with his wisdom saves his school making all of them realise that what education can do to a society.
It is a serio-comic on issues related to our education system in the interior areas of the state.
'Bomba Ride' was included in the list of 25 films selected for the international competition section of the 52nd International Film Festival of India in Goa, and has received a lot of appreciation from the audience.
The film is produced by Louit Kumar Barman and Dr Kaushik Hazarika.
This time out of a total of 221 Indian films, 25 feature films have been selected for Indian Panorama. Similarly, 20 'non-feature films' have been selected from 203 films.

Over 20 people have been injured when a passenger bus slipped into deep gorge in near Guwahati on Saturday.The accident took place at around 2-30 in the afternoon when the passenger bus was on its way to Kamakhya and suddenly it lost control and fell on a gorge where several people were rescued by police and local residents.
Governor J B Patnaik said that the government's counter insurgency operations have fetched dividends where the republic day boycott call was defied. Buses, private taxis and autorickshaws of state-run Assam State Transport Corporation (ASTC) plied as usual. Defying militant diktat, Republic Day was celebrated across the stat with much fanfare and cultural extravaganza. A powerful Improvised Explosive Devices was recovered ahead of the Republic Day celebrations in Darrang district on Thursday.The bomb was found near the Mangaldoi police station and Republic Day parade ground in the morning.
