Tribute to Simanta Bhagawati

Guwahati: The media fraternity will remember journalist Simanta Bhagawati, who passed away on 21 April in a city hospital following a massive stroke, in a meeting to be held at Guwahati Press Club on Friday next.

It may be noted that Simanta, 53, was also a sportsman and faced the stroke on 19 April while playing tennis at a city court. He was associated with The Assam Tribune till May last year. A man of humour, Simanta leaves behind his wife and a daughter with other relatives and well-wishers.

Journalist Forum Assam (JFA) appeals everyone in the media family to join in the memorial meeting starting at 3 pm of 27 April 2018.
