Shalbagan lifts martyrs gold cup
Shalbagan FC defeated Gobindo Basumatary Football Academy (GBFA) by 2-0 and lifted the Bodoland Martyrs Gold Cup football Championship, 2015 in today's final match being played here at KDSA ground in Kokrajhar.
The championship was organized by EX-BLT welfare society in association with Kokrajhar district sports association in memory of Bodoland martyrs who were sacrifice their lives for the cause of separate Bodoland state movement.
For Shalbagan,Manjit Rabha netted his first goal in 14 minutes and Joch Prince scored another goal in 46 minutes which led the team 2-0 in the first half. GBFA tried to equalized the match, but failed to score any goal and lost to Shalbagan 2-0.
BTC executive member Doneswar Goyary handed over cash 50,000 and a trophy to championship team. Hemendra Nath Brahma, president of Assam Football Association handed over cash 25,000 and a trophy to runners up team.
Ram Sangalion of Shalbagan was adjusted as best player and awarded cash 5,000 and a trophy.
Madhav Prasad Sarma, Kokrajhar DC, Shyamal Prasad Saikia, SP Kekajhar, Janamahan Mushahary, chairman of ex-BLT welfare society were prominent attendies in the prize distribution ceremony.
