Normal train services to and from Guwahati remained heavily disrupted when local residents in Khetri and Dimoria blocked the trains at Digaru raising an old demand on Monday.

Hundreds of local residents assembled a Digaru and squatted on the rail tracks demanding a manned level crossing to ensure their safety.

The blockade forced as many ten trains halt on the way to and from Guwahati.

The blockade lasted for around 3 hours.

Later it was called off after senior railway officials assured the agitating people of looking into their demands.
