The local people in Raha have served a 7 day ultimatum to the government to take a final call on the proposed AIIMS in the area. They further have demanded immediate release of the 4 protestors without any condition.

Addressing a press conference here on Wednesday, local leaders Hiranya Narayan Bora and Birinchi Bhuyan said that they have suspended the agitation following Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal’s assurance to take up their matter with the Centre.

They further have demanded unconditional release of four protesters who were remanded to judicial custody in connection with the police-protestor clash in Raha.
Notably, Sonowal on Tuesday afternoon assured a group of people from Raha that he would write to the Centre and that the letter would be publicly shown to the people of Raha.
