NDFB-S leader killed

Security forces claimed to have killed a dreaded NDFB-S leader during a joint counter insurgency operation in Kokrajhar district on Monday. An army team accompanied by police and para military forces conducted a raid at a house where he was hiding. Firstly, the NDFB-S activists allegedly targeted the army and police and when retaliated he died on the spot. Police further claimed to have seized some arms and ammunition from the spot.

Both the NDFB-S leaders were identified as Pungkha Narzary and Jwngsr Basumatary. According to the security forces, they belonged to the 42 batch who were preparing to strike in the run up to the Independence Day celebrations in the BTAD areas.
