Mother, son died in electrocution

A woman and her son lost their lives when a storm lashed the city of Guwahati on Saturday night. The tragic incident took place at Dhirenpara area when a minor boy died in electrocution after high voltage powerlines collapsed in the storm. When his mother tried to rescue her 12 year old son she also died in electrocution.

 Amid shock and anger, local residents blamed the power department for lack of maintenance which was why the powerlines collapsed in the storm.
