Meritorious students felicitated at Nazira programme

NAZIRA, July 4, 2026 — Meritorious students who excelled in the High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) and Higher Secondary examinations this year were felicitated at a special programme organised in Nazira on Thursday.

The event was organised by Ward No. 8 Commissioner and educationist Silmi Bora with the support of local residents at the auditorium of the Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) office in the heart of Nazira town.

Students who secured distinction in the state board examinations were honoured for their academic achievements in the presence of educationists, public representatives and members of the local community.

The programme was conducted by organiser Saira Begum and attended by educationist Dhruvajyoti Handique, AGP Central Vice-President Tulsi Gogoi, AGP Nazira Constituency Committee president Mridul Mahanta, and Ward Commissioner Silmi Bora, among others.

Addressing the gathering, Dhruvajyoti Handique congratulated the students on their achievements and encouraged them to remain focused on their studies and strive for excellence in their future academic and professional pursuits.

The organisers said the felicitation programme was aimed at recognising academic excellence and motivating young students to pursue higher goals through dedication and hard work.
