Flood wreaks havoc in Kaziranga

 Flood waters are wreaking havoc in Kaziranga National Park. The famed abode of the one- horned rhino has come under the surging waters after the river Brahmaputra started flowing above the danger level.

Park authorities told Assam Times that the flood inundated low-lying areas in almost all the ranges with the animals moving to the highlands in neighbouring Karbi Anglong district.

Water has entered 50 camps across the Park with three camps evacuated in the Northern range.

The flood have forced many birds and animals to be migrated to the highland across NH-37.

To check speeding vehicles barricades have been set up and time-cards introduced to control the speed of the vehicles.
