Akhil’s mother on hunger strike

Akhil Gogoi’s mother Priyoda Gogoi is on a hunger strike near Jorhat on Tuesday demanding immediate release of her son who was arrested on Sunday in connection with the recent self immolation case.

Flanked by 50 local KMSS workers, Gogoi began her hunger strike at her own residence in Teok from Tuesday morning.

Several local organizations also have visited her and promised help.
