AGP launches website

The President of AGP, Chandra Mohan Patowarytoday launched the Party website - www.asomganaparishad.in - at its head office in Guwahati, with an objective to create awareness about the importance of regional Party in the political field.


The launching of the website has come at the time when the forth coming Assam State Assembly election is due in the first half of next year, AGP president Chandra Mohan Patowary says that though the website might be of some help in the election for the party, the objective is not the forth coming election., rather it has more deep and serious matters are related to it.


The party hopes that the website will help in creating awareness among the younger generation about the importance of any regional party in the political field and thus inviting support fro the people. The website has put documents of Assam Agitation to educate those who were not born at that time, a agitation which is the backbone of the AGP, and thus rewriting all about the deep emotions of the people attached to the party.


The website also aims at reaching out to the people who are far away from the country, telling the people about the Aims and Objective of the Party, its work and the importance. In the state thus appealing their support too.


The website also includes discussions on important issues and inviting suggestions. Social networking site like face book, twitter are also available on the webpage. Besides press releases of the party will also be available in the website for the press people.

Paresh desparate to prove strength: Gogoi

Reacting on the recent bomb blasts in Lakhimpur and Karbi Anglong, Chief minister Tarun Gogoi said that the ULFA Chief Paresh Baruah is desperate to prove his strength through bomb blasts. North-East facing Rain deficit

Some districts of Assam may be reeling under flood but over all there is big deficit of rainfall in the state, the rainfall also is less than the previous year during the period of June and July, reports Regional Meteorological centre, Guwahati. Assam in 2013, is having a deficit of -37% in comparison to Plus 25% Last year from the Month of June 5th and July 12th. The total rainfall of the monsoon season is however is calculated till the month September.As far as the entire north East concern most of the state is facing more rain deficit than last year. New police station at Kamakhya

A new police station, in the Nilachal Hills, near Kamakhya Temple was inaugurated on Thursday in presence of IGP Central Western Range LR Bishnoi. The new outpost will better serve the people and add up for the temple security which comes on the wake of recent Bodh Gaya blast. "Kamakhya is a world famous place for tourist, and once in a year the big Ambubachi Mela takes place that attracts lakhs of tourists. Terrorists always keep an eye in such places. However there is no any threat to Kamakhya as of now, but this new police station will add up to the security measure for Kamakhya," said Bishnoi.
