Bangladeshi infiltrators causing problems not only in Assam but throught the country. This had to be dealt seriously both by the state and the central government, said VHP's international working president Pravin Togadia, at a press conference in Guwahati. Tagodia has come here to attend National VHP convention that is being held from July 24 to 28.
“The Bodh Gaya blast suspect is a Rohingya Muslim, that has passed through Assam to reach Bodh Gaya. Even in Chennai when some burglars were caught after their failed attempt to rob a Jewelery shop, they were found to be Bangladeshi nationals. So these infiltrators are not only threat to Assam but also threat for the country, who are involved in dacoity, terrorism, crime and demographc imbalance” - thus said Togadia. He added that the NRC must be updated taking 1951 as the base year, and the VHP will be bound to take up a mass movement in the country if the NRC is done taking 1971 as the base year. “We can not take 50,000,00 Bangladeshi in our country, or else it will be a big threat for the state of Assam”. Said Togadia.
The fire brand leader of the VHP, however, did not comment anything on National politics when asked about Narendra Modi and the Visa issue. He reiterated that there are various problems like infiltration, Border fencing that Assam is facing, and that these problems has to be highlighted in the National VHP Meeting. Togadia compared the low quality border fencing in the Assam- Bangladesh border with the high end fencing in the borders of Jammu and Kashmir, where there are both Army and BSF for border vigilance.
