Dont disturb territorial integrity: Torch rally in Namrup

Over 500 people hit the streets with a torch rally in Namrup in protest against the Centre's alleged move to compromise territory in the name of the much-hyped Nagalim.

Led by the Namrup local AASU leaders, the men and women alike joined the torch rally on Monday evening. The protestors shouted slogans and asked the Centre to stop the move.

Talking to Assam Times, local AASU leader Kalpjit Gogoi said," we wont allow Assam to leave even an inch in the name of Nagalim. Why the Centre has yet to make the peace framework public if they don't want to disturb the territorial integrity. We do warn the government not to proceed with the deal. Otherwise, Assam will burn again and the government must take the blame."
