Pasighat celebrates 67th Republic Day

Along with the rest part of the country, Pasighat too celebrated the 67th Republic Day today with pomp and show amidst a large turnout of people in the general ground. The Deputy Commissioner Isha Khosla unfurled the National Tricolor and took Rashtriya Salute of impressive march past presented by parade contingents of CRPF Jawans, APP, NCC (boys and girls), Scouts and Guides and Band Party of various schools of Pasighat.

In her address, Chief Guest Khosla paid rich tributes to the freedom fighters, recollected their sacrifices for making India a vibrant and prosperous nation. The builders of constitution had to face gigantic tasks to make our country march ahead on the path to peace and prosperity stated Khosla while conveying her profound gratitude to the planners of Indian constitution who made the nation strong, vibrant and self-reliant. She urged the citizens to maintain unity and integrity preserving the core values of age-old Indian heritage.

The Chief Guest expressed her pride on the patriotic spirit, zeal and cooperation of the people of East Siang district in development processes and congratulating the gathering for their contributions towards a harmonious and equitable society. She mentioned the achievements brought so far and vision of the government for the welfare of the citizens that have a very significant impact on the economy of the entire population.

Khosla highlighted various achievements and particularly mentioned the initiatives taken by her administration for Smart City Project, Digital India Week etc were appreciated at national level. Special emphasis was given to education, health, Rural Development, agriculture and road connectivity etc under various state and central government sponsored schemes. Consumer awareness, stabilized voltage for general hospital to operate all sophisticated machines properly, maximum enrollments under APCMHIS, control of malaria, dengue, reduction of maternal death and infant mortality, assistive aids to physically challenged children, skill development training to the unemployed youths, maintenance of law and order, improvement and maintenance of road network, Advance Landing Ground, adequate supply of water and electricity etc were major achievements of the district. Agriculture and Horticulture universities, North East Institute of Folk Medicine, nationally acclaimed institute JNC, National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology are providing higher education to the youths of the state, added the DC in her address. 

The Chief Guest gave away the prizes to the achievers and Certificate of Appreciation to many for their outstanding services. Khosla inaugurated a crowd pulling tableaux organized and installed by government departments and NGOs. Various schools and groups took part in the cultural program and presented patriotic songs and dances on national unity and integration and Disaster Management to mark the occasion. 

Among others, Loksabha MP Ninong Ering, DIG LH Shanliana, SP RS Chauhan, Chief Councilor Denong Tamuk, ZPC Kaling Dai, retired IAS and APCS officers and many prominent leaders and officers were present on the occasion.
