Internal bickering seems to touched a new low within the poll bound Congress.
Assembly Speaker Pranab Gogoi on Thursday called on party president Sonia Gandhi and apprised her of the state of affairs hardly a month ahead of the Lok Sabbha polls.
Talking to reporters in New Delhi, Gogoi, whose son is a contender from Jorhat seat, said that he urged her to field competent candidate in the general polls.
Significantly, he is understood to have told the high command that all was not well in the ruling party.
He urged Gandhi that only the winnable candidates should be fielded in the polls.
