Steps to curb EVM tempering

In a bid to curb EVM tempering in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls, the Election Commission has the state government employees not to deal with the EVMs in the polls.

In an order, the country’s poll panel has said that Amtron employees are not entitled to deal with the EVMs.

The Commission further has asked BCL and ECIL employees to check the EVMs.

The Election Commission has passed the restrictions after it took serious cognizance of AGP president Prafulla Kumar Mahanta’s complaint that the Amtron emplyees might help the ruling party manipulate the voting machines.
