Finally, AASU has called off strike against Oil India Limited in Duliajan.
But the respite is temporary as the student body lifted it in view of the large scale inconvenience of the common people who has been repeatedly asked AASU to do it.
The decision was taken after the oil giant authorities agreed to talk to them on Saturday.
AASU leaders told Assam Times that the 300 hour strike resulted in the state’s dimal power scenario due to marginalized power supply of gas by the oil giant to the thermal projects and Neepco projects.
The strike was called by AASU in protest against the alleged anomalies in the recruitment of 300 unskilled workers.
