Pomp and gaiety in Tezpur

RAJU BARUAH FROM TEZPUR

Shivaratri festivity seems to have gripped Tezpur on Thursday. The city of eternal romance is teeming with devotees and tourists as the Mahashivaratri got underway on Thursday.

From early in the morning devotees of all ages were standing in queues in the Mahabhairav temple premises to offer pujas to the Lord Shiva. Tight security is in place in the entire town to ensure peace during the festival.

The Shivaratri fair also is pulling huge crowd of tourists from the country and abroad. The festival will continue till Friday.
