AASU leader quits, to join BJP

In a major development in the state’s political scenario, an senior AASU leader has quit the organization to join BJP.

According to confirmation, AASU’s assistant general secretary Rituparna Baruah has put on his papers before general secretary Tapan Kumar Gogoi on Monday.

Baruah, the close friend of Sarbananda Sonowal is all set to join BJP on Tuesday. Moreover, the party is likely to field him in Dibrugarh in the upcoming Lok Sabha poll.

Baruah is the second senior AASU leader to have joined the BJP after Sonowal who is set to be BJP candidate from Lakhimpur.
