Anti-tobacco bill turns into law

The much-hyped anti-tobacco bill is all set to become a historic law in the state from Thursday.

Disclosing this, health minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma told the Assembly on Wednesday that the bill to ban sale and consumption of tobacco across the state has already got governor’s ascent.

Now the bill is all set to become law from Thursday. The Assam Assembly will clear the formalities to ban sale and consumption of tobacco across the state.
