Trouble for Phukan

Four BJP legislators are dead opposed to Prasanta Phukan as the party’s legislature committee head in the Assembly.

They write to the party leadership to remove him from the post following the allegations of his role in the voting anomalies in the Rajya Sabha polls where the Opposition consensus candidate was defeated.

According to them, Phukan has no right to continue his leadership in the party’s legislative body. But Phukan has urged the state election officer to make his ballot public to vindicate what he has been claiming.
