Khanapara area in Guwahati breaks out into a sea of humanity where Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi is holding a rally on Saturday.
The BJP’s prime ministerial candidate is scheduled to land that the Borjhar airport at 1 in the afternoon. Then he would straightly leave for Sarausajai by a helicopter form where he would go to the rally venue at the veterinary playground by car.
BJP workers from far flung areas across the state started arriving in the city from Friday afternoon. The state leadership has arranged around 4000 buses to help the activists come to the rally. These are apart from 6000 four wheelers being deployed for transportation purpose.
Over 50,000 people have already arrived in Guwahati on Saturday morning from the upper Assam districts by four trains. In view of the huge gathering, the district administration has made some special arrangement.
City police have made some changes in the bus routes to avoid any traffic snarl on Saturday due to the rally. Modi is expected to address the rally around 1 hour.
“The address will expected to woo lakhs of voters who wants to get ride of the Congress mis-governance in Assam and the corrupt UPA government,” party leaders told Assam Times.
