No politics further: Hussain

Opposition consensus candidate Haidor Hussain said that he would further refrain from active political party.

After his defeat in the Rajya Sabha polls on Friday, he told reporters in Dispur that his defeat was on the expected line in view of the gradual erosion of unity among the Opposition parties.

But he said he agreed to give his consent to the proposal in view of overwhelming support from across the state. He had to remain satisfied with only 26 votes.
