City academician to receive award

Dr. Samrat Dey, Assistant Professor of Physics at AssamDonBoscoUniversity has been honoured with the “Special Mention- Young Faculty” award in prestigious 2nd Academic Brilliance Awards-14 (

The award ceremony of ABA-14 will be held in Noida (Delhi NCR) on 9th February 2014. 

Education Expo TV (EET) and Companies Rating System (CRS) is India’s largest Research & Branding Company.

Dr Dey is the only one from North East India to have been selected for “Special Mention- Young Faculty” award which recognizes outstanding contributions made by a faculty at relatively early stages in their careers that include contributions   & achievements in teaching, research & other activities.

Dr. Dey did his M.Sc. (Physics) and Ph.D from NorthEasternHillUniversity. He also has two other master degrees, – M.Sc. (Computer Science) and MBA – to his credit.

Throughout his academic career he has been a rank holder, being 1st class first in both B.Sc and M.Sc.

A NEHU gold medal winner in M.Sc, Dr Dey is presently working in as many as four different fields of research. He has a large number of publications in reputed national and international journals. He has also authored and edited national and international journals and books.

A Radio journalist working with the first community radio in the Darjeeling Hills has staked his claim and snatched a place in the India Book of Records, 28 September 2020.
