(C-DAC). The Kolkata based group conducted a workshop on Health Care Knowledge System at the Academic Hall of the Guwahati Medical College Hospital on Guwahati on Thursday. It aims at highlighting the increasing use of computer and
software techniques through empowering public with Health Knowledge in the state.
According to the group, senior health and family welfare department officials along with the officials from the AIDS control society, NRHM and IT
Professionals attended the meeting. More than seventy professionals participated in the event.
Speaking on the occasion, C-DAC Kolkata Scientist Goutam Kumar Saha said that the concept maps based on the health Care Knowledge system software is available through
internet.
Saha further said that the web-enabled concept map based health care knowledge system provides organized healthcare knowledge toward quick understanding of disease symptoms, diagnosis, treatment and prevention.
Thousands of pages of medical, healthcare information have been transformed into about 350 pages of semantic networks and concept maps showing important health objects and its relationships.
He said the software Kiosk has already been installed in major Medical Colleges & Hospitals and Community Health Centres in all the eight North Eastern states.

Nagaland, Agartala Govt Medical College, Tripura, CHCs etc.
The Health Care Knowledge System is also accessible free of cost through the RIMS Imphal website, RIPANS- Aizawl, Directorate of Health Services-Gov of Mizoram,
NRHM-Govt of Tripura Website, Silchar Medical College Websites, Agartala Govt Medical College, NEIGRIHMS Medical College-Shillong etc.
The Assam Government officials have shown keen interest to deploy the CDAC’s Health Care Knowledge System in all districts of the state towards controlling the Burden of Diseases in Assam through this innovative eHealth solution for empowering Public with Health Care Knowledge towards preventing diseases in the state. The workshop has been found to be a very interactive one.
Participators including Prof. N C Bhattacharya, Dr B K Duara, Dr N K Hazarika, Dr Arundhati Deka have praised the project and Workshop.
