BPF legislators have asked the Congress leadership to ensure the victory of Biswajeet Daimary in the Rajya Sabha polls otherwise the candidate would pull out of the poll process.

Immediately after collecting the papers for withdrawal of the nomination by Daimary on Thursday, BPF MLAs tried to reach the Congress leadership to discuss the issue.

The Congress leadership is believed to have told BPF not to take any hasty decision in this regard. Congress sources called it a pressure tactic by the BPF.
