Rapist held in Lakhimpur

Yet another incident of rape seems to have brought bad name for Lakhimpur.
The incident took place in Boginadi again where the victim is a girl of Eighth standard. The 50 year old accused perpetrator is in police custody after he raped the minor girl in the absence of her parents on Sunday.
Identified as Toseshwar Hazarika, the accused was caught by the local residents and was beaten up before being handed over to police. Investigation is going on.
On the other hand, thousands of people in the entire area staged dharna in front of the Boginadi police station demanding strict action against the perpetrator.
