Security forces, engaged in the counterinsurgency operation in Dima Hasao district, achieved a major success when a dreaded militant was captured on Wednesday. Identified as David Kemprai, the 45 year old Action Dimasa leader was held during a combing operation in Mahur in the afternoon. Kemprai was the main culprit behind the killing of Rajiv Pathak, the PHE executive engineer in Haflong who was shot dead by militant inside his chamber two months back.

The gathering, hosted by the Affected Citizens of Teesta, Centre for Research and Advocacy (Manipur), and the Borok Peoples Human Rights Organization, concluded with a significant resolution aimed at safeguarding the region's rivers and biodiversity.
