Mukherjee on NE visit

President Pranab Mukherjee is on a two days visit to Assam and Meghalaya. Mukherjee landed at the Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport in the afternoon.
Assam Governor J B Patnaik along with senior ministers received Mukherjee at the Lokopriyo Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport.
Then he straightly left for Shillong by a helicopter. Then he attended a function at the Meghalaya State Legislative Assembly in the evening.
On Tuesday morning he is scheduled to inaugurate the Innovation Club and attend the North-Eastern Hill University convocation.
Mukherjee is scheduled to inaugurate a national seminar `Continuing Legal Education and Children' and 'Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012'.
The seminar is organised by the Bar Council of Assam, Nagaland, Mizoram, Arunachal Pradesh and Sikkim to mark the closing of its golden jubilee celebrations.

The Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary in Assam's Marigaon district is known for its high density of one-horned rhinoceros and is also an important habitat for various bird species.
