We have an NGO named BHATIRKUPA YOUTH ORGANISATION, Hailakandi, of 12 years old but without any govt scheme and very much desirous to work under NABARD, for the interest of poor people of Hailakandi. Can I expect any cooperation from NABARD ? We are ready to abide by all terms & conditions of NABARD.

Dude! This kind of investment has been happening since India got independence and if you see the progress rate it is very very slow; those people who are in Delhi, whom we call the government is only interested to use our natural resources and exploit them; this is not only in Assam but North East as a whole; i'm hoping and praying when the day will come that people will unite and fight against this menace.......

I am apprehensive about the utlilization of funds under NABARD and all sort of investment related schemes and in Assam. Introduction of Micro-Credit in the villages is a better option. Corruption will trickle there too, but the loopholes will be far less.

Its time to 'work with the people' not 'work for the people'. The basic funda of any goverment agency is to work for the people and hence no progress inspite of huge amount spent in the name of development. We can become the watchdog for the programme and ask governments about it's progress. We can ask them to put the things online so that they dont have to give execuse of papaers and any other stationery items. Together we can bring a change.

No person seems to have dominated Gujarat politics as much as Chief Minister Narendra Modi over the last one decade. In case he wins this 2007 election, where fifty-fifty chances appear after the voting on 11 and 16 December, what will be the ‘Modis’ effect on national politics viz-a-viz BJP and if he fails, how the Congress and BJP will turnaround their politicking in India; a debate every political analyst and media portal is genuinely trying to explore. We argue that after the 2002 Gujarat it is not LK Advani but Narendra Bhai Modi who is the formidable icon for Hindutva politics in India. His defeat or win in the recent Gujarat election will mean beyond Gujarat. Modi’s...
