Action against science teacher demanded
At least four hundred people including woman and students took part in a protest rally at Tangla town on September 13 demanding action against science teacher Babul Nath of Tangla HS School who allegedly molested a class VIII girl student in his tuition chamber a few days back.The protest rally was jointly organised by Akhil Bharatiya Hindivasi Yuva Chatra Parishad Tangla anchalik and Udalguri District Committee.Oher organisations of Tangla including AASU,Indian Woman Cultural Committee,Tangla Branch participated in the rally which toured the streets of Tangla town shouting sloguns against the teachers. They submitted a memorandum to Circle Officer,Harisinga Revenue Circle demanding arrest and suspension of the teacher.
According to information science teacher Babul Nath,father of a new born baby allegedly molested a minor girl studying in class eight in Tangla Higher Secondary School in his tuition chamber. But the girl informed her parents about the matter and accordingly her father lodged a complaint to Principal of Tangla HSS School on September 4. Seeing no action taken her father again filed an FIR at Tangla police station on September 6. When contacted Inspector of Schools ,Udalguri said that he was aware of the matter and action will be taken against the teacher after receiving formal complaint. It needs mention that academic atmosphere in various schools in the district has been polluted by a few teacher involving with illegal activities. It has also been alleged that another teacher of Tangla HS School was found to be involved in such illegal activities during “Jyanjyoti Yatra” weeks ago.
