GNRC Media Fellows’ name declared

The next session of GNRC Media Fellowship program will begin on August 5. Nine working journalists have already been selected for the fellowship program, which is sponsored by GNRC Hospitals and initiated by Guwahati Press Club.

The month long fellowship will enable the fellows to study various healthcare related issues and also a remuneration of Rs 10,000 each. Three journalists will form a group for the fellowship and it will finally culminate in the first week of November 2013.

The selected fellows include Rabindra Saikia, Krishna Bhuyan, Jahnavee Sarmah, Manoranjan Bori, Jadumoni Saikia, Padmi,pni Hazarika, Hiren Sarmah, Manuj Kumar Neog and Sidananda Saikia.

Dr NC Borah, CMD of GNRC Hospitals has congratulated the selected fellows and expressed hope that the fellowship would enrich their knowledge on various medical and healthcare related issues which should help them in the growth of their careers.

The fellows are expected to attend at least two interactive sessions with GNRC assigned doctors every week and each of the fellows would publish three articles out of their experiences in the mainstream media.

Senior journalist Hiten Mahanta passed away on Saturday at GNRC (six mile) hospital. The end came at 7.25 in the morning at GNRC Hospital where he was undergoing treatment.Mahanta suffered multiple head injuries as he fell on the road on the morning hours of August 5 at his home locality of Chunchali in the city. Senior journalist Hiten Mahanta paased away on Saturday at GNRC (six mile) hospital. He was admitted to the hospital on August 5 and continued to be critical. His last came on 7.30 am of 29 August 2015.
