DHAC session held

The third session of the Dima Hasao Autonomous Council was held under the Chairmanship of Ngamrothang Hmar, Chairman DHAC at the Council’s session hall on Friday. The session was attended by all the Members of Autonomous Council including Sri Debojeet Thaosen, CEM, DHAC.

During the business hour it was supposed to hold discussion on the questions raised by the two members Sri Athong Lienthang and Mihir Gorlosa, though the question were significant and requires full participation of all the members of the house but since the approval of the executive committee was yet to get, the session was adjourned till the approval of the executive committee. The session was addressed by Sri Parkanta Warisa, Sri Nirmal Langthasa, and  CEM Debojeet Thaosen also.

It is learnt that the CEM Sri Thaosen has submitted the list executive members to the governor of Assam on June 19 last which remained pending till the date.

After the deliberation of MAC Athong Lienthang, MAC Kulendra Daolagupu put forward the suggestion of holding of discussion on the questions raised by Lienthang and Gorlosa after the approval as the discussion would require participation of all the members.

MAC Mihir Gorlosa who attended the session 10 minutes late as he had attended the first review meeting on Memorandum of Settlement (MoS) in Delhi on July10. Gorlosa expressed disappointment as the session was adjourned without holding any discussion on issue which he has raised. Talking to this correspondent he said discussion on the points raised should be discussed in the session to uphold the Council. He disclosed that the members of opposition should also get justice otherwise spirit of democracy would be diluted.
