Very happy to know that the association is continuing to do well and growing. I had the privilege of being the President of the association around 1981-82 when I was a Professor of IIT-Madras ( now Chennai). During Assam Movement, we published the Brahmaputra Beckons. Customs officials and the West Bengal police have so far arrested 52 foreign tourists hours after they seized 22 satellite phones from a hotel in New Jalpaiguri on Saturday.According to information, these phones were seized from two foreign nationals---one from UK and another from Belgium.On the basis of their confessional statements, police further arrested 50 more foreign tourists from the New Jalpaiguri town.
