Gogoi hits at Rajnath Singh

Countering BJP President Rajnath Singh's allegation of 'foreigners issue is not in Congress's agenda', Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi said that the BJP did nothing to solve the issue during their tenure at the Centre. Thus their allegation is nothing but a political play that comes before every election. Gogoi questioned the BJP's role regarding constructing of Indo-Bangladesh border fence which were in a very deplorable state then in comparison to the present status.

Mocking on BJP's so called success in the recently concluded GMC election, Gogoi said that the party had failed to retain the success percentage of the earlier election though they were hyping on the success. Instead, Gogoi said, it was the Congress who got the absolute majority.

Sighting various developmental activities in the state, Gogoi, expressed with great confidence that the forthcoming Lok Sabha election will see a better seat sharing for the Congress than the earlier elections.

On the issue of Bangladesh land deal, CM reiterated that the deal will benefit Assam and that the longstanding border disputes will be solved forever.
