Tinsukia: A relief camp inmate in Baghjan area allegedly committed suicide by consuming poison on Saturday sending shock and anger across the state.
The incident took place after the inmate has been remaining upset over nonreceipt of compensation from the authorities since the gas well inferno reduced his houses and properties to ashes.

PEN Delhi expresses its deep concern at the intimidation that Patricia Mukhim, editor of The Shillong Times, is being subjected to for her opposition to the violence against non-tribals in Meghalaya. Guwahati : Assam chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal had a stock taking video conference with all district authorities in the time of COVID-19.
