Gogoi laids foundation of hospital and road at Khumtai
“Whether it is health or education or employment generation, during the regime of the congress govt. the state has got a facelift in every sector. Today we have among a few states in India to declare 80% dearness allowance. By successfully holding the panchayat poll, we have decentralized power by not letting it confined to Dispur but carrying it to the grass root level. Despite all our achievements there is a section of people who seemed to be blind to all the positive aspects of our governance but spend their energies in criticizing and burning our effigies. Let them continue with their business of criticism and we shall devote ourselves in achieving and fulfilling all the better and brighter prospects for our state. This was said by Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi, on Tuesday morning while addressing a public meeting held on the occasion of laying the foundations of Khumtai Model Hospital and Khumtai-Lengera Chapori Road.
The meeting was attended by State PWD Minister Ajanta Neog, State Public Health Engineering Department Minister Goutom Roy, MLA of Khumtai Bismita Gogoi, MLA of Dergaon Aroti Kachari, MLA of Bokakhat Arun Phukan, among others and the entire event was coordinated by Anupjyoti Choudhury, Dist. Information and Public Relation officer who also gave the vote of thanks.
Later, the Chief Minister also inaugurated the Greater Titabor Piped Water Supply Scheme in Borphukankaht area of Golaghat. The water supply scheme has been framed to cover 506 habitations with 1,40,769 souls covering 17 Gaon Panchayats under Titabor Development Block of Jorhat District at a project cost of Rs. 98.1858 Crores. It is for the first time in the history of rural water supply in Assam, Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition has been utilized, which is basically a computer system through which the pump sets which are installed at intake point and treatment plant can be operated from any location as well as monitor and control the pressure and flow in the distribution system.

Members of Golaghat Regional Students’ Union today started a week long signature campaign demanding solutions to various problems of Golaghat town. Acting on a tip off the 142 Battalion of Central Reserve Police Force stationed at Merapani along the Assam-Nagaland interstate border in Golaghat district, led by commandant Vishrant Kumar, today seized two trucks bearing registration nos.
