ULFA vs Zubeen

The United Liberation Front of Asom has strongly criticized Zubeen Garg for performing in Hindi at the Latasheel function.
In a statement released to media on Thursday, the outfit alleged that the artist has downplayed the appeal.

The Paresh Baruah faction of ULFA has warned Assam singers from singing Hindi songs in the upcoming Rongali Bihu functions and the organisers to desist from holding dances set to Bollywood songs.

Kohima: A few rebels are believed to have been hurt as they were locked in a heavy exchange of firing in Nagaland on Wednesday. The incident took place in Tobu area in Mon district where both side had a fierce encounter from Tuesday.  According to sources, the Armed rebels suddenly sprang on a group of Assam Rifles on a patrolling duty in the evening amid stepped up security to ensure a peaceful I-Day celebrations in the state on Wednesday. Guwahati: Journalists’ Forum Assam (JFA) expressed concerns over incidents of attacks on scribes across the country and urged the concerned authorities to investigate the motives behind those assaults and punish the culprits accordingly.
