Hills Welfare Society gifts rest house for Gaonburas

Kailan Daulagupu, President, Jadikhe Naisho Hosom, Dimasa Apex body inaugurated the Gaon Bura Rest House in presence of Sri Subrata Thaosen, President Hills Welfare Society, Sri Debolal Gorlosa, Secretary, Hills Welfare Society, Sri Anil Daolagupu, President, All Dima Hasao GB Association and all the Gaon Buras of Dima Hasao on Saturday at Gdain Raji in Haflong.

This Gaon Bura Rest House was constructed by the then DHD (J) and gifted to the All Dima Hasao GB Association ceremonially by the Hills welfare Society of former DHD (J) members. The GBs of Dima Hasao always hold high respect in the society but they were not having such accommodation facilities in Haflong town. The GBs coming from far flung of the district had to stay of their own. Keeping in this mind the Hills Wefare Society has gifted this rest house to them.

In this connection a well attended meeting was held with Sri Anil Daolagupu, President, All Dima Hasao GB Association in the chair wherein Sri Kailan Daulagupu, President, Jadikhe Naisho Hosom attended as the chief guest while Sri Subrata Thaosen, President Hills Welfare Society, Sri Debolal Gorlosa, Secretary, Hills Welfare Society, Monoj Gorlosa, Rabin Langthasa, GB, Haflong, Ron Kemprai etc attended as the guest of honour.

Sri Debolal Gorlosa, Secretary, Hills Welfare Society speaking on the occasion disclosed that after the ceasefire of DHD (J), they realized that the Gaon Buras who helped them a lot during their movement, but these GBs of the district though holding high respect in the society were not having accommodation facility in Haflong town, they had to stay at Haflong for various official works of their own spending a lot. Then they thought of such a rest house for the GBs and today they were very much happy to handover this rest house them.

All the GBs attending the occasion opined that this act of Hills Welfare Society definitely deserve the appreciation from all since it is the first of its kind in the history of Dima Hasao.

Sri Anil Daolagupu, President, All Dima Hasao GB Association said ‘ it was really a happy moment for the Gaon Buras of Dima Hasao to have a rest house in the name All Dima Hasao GB Association and of course, the members of Hills Welfare Society have shown respect to these GBs . He hoped that the members of Hills Welfare Society would such commendable works in future also.Sri Kailan Daulagupu, President, Jadikhe Naisho Hosom as the chief guest said that the members of Hills Welfare Society the former DHD(J) definitely deserve the appreciation from all since they have set a record in the history of Dima Hasao.
