Elephant carcass found in Jorhat

Much to the utter disappointment of the nature lovers, the carcass of an elephant calf was found in Hollongapar Gibbon Wildlife Sanctuary in Jorhat district on Sunday.
The female elephant, suspected to have been poisoned, was found in Koliapani range of the sanctuary by forest guards on patrol.
A postmortem would be conducted to ascertain the cause of the elephant's death.
